Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena visits Tirumala

TIRUPATI: District collector P.S. Pradyumna and S.V. Rajasekhar Babu, Chittoor SP, welcomed Sri Lankan president Maithripala Sirisena at Palamaneru of Chittoor district on Saturday upon his arrival by road from Bengaluru.  

Mr Sirisena, his wife Jayanthi Pushpa Kumari and family members arrived later at the Sri Padmavathi Rest House in Tirumala where they were accorded another warm welcome by Tirumala Joint Executive Officer. 

CVSO Ake Ravi Krishna, Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty and sub-collector Nishant Kumar were also present. 

Later Mr Sirisena visited the Srivari Padam which is around two kms from Tirumala. He was appraised of the significance of the mythological spot by TTD officials. The visiting president is scheduled to visit Srivari temple on Sunday morning for darshan during the Suprabhata Seva.
