Hyderabad: The State Election Commission has ordered the removal of images of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Cabinet ministers from official websites, but several of them including those of the Mineral Development Corporation (TSMDC), Aarogyasri Health Care Trust, Bathukamma and others have not followed the instructions.

On Saturday, the ECI directed all government departments to remove images of ministers from official websites.

Some government departments including the HMWSSSB and the GHMC removed the images of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr Rama Rao from their websites. Images of some ministers continue on most websites including that of the municipal administration and urban development, CDMA, animal husbandry and fisheries, Board of Intermediate Education and others.

Mr Konatham Dileep, director, Digital Media, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications department, said he had issued orders to remove the images of ministers from official websites of government departments.

“Most government websites are handled by vendors. Since Sunday is a holiday most of them have not removed the images. However, they will be removed by Monday,” he said.
