Telangana's First Government IVF Centre Inaugurated at Gandhi Hospital
Hyderabad: The first government-run in vitro fertility (IVF) centre was inaugurated at the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday. Costing Rs 16.5 crore, the 4,300-sq ft is located on the fifth floor of the maternity and child care centre.
It has two operation theatres, embryo and andrology laboratories. The centre has a trinolcular stereo zoom microscope, ICSI micromanipulator system with inverted microscope, IVF workstations, IVF laser system as well as ultrasound scanners.
Health minister Harish Rao, in a post on X (formerly Twitter) thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and the facility would make expensive IVF procedures free and accessible to the poor. Home minister Md Mahmood Ali inaugurated the centre, which was centre was completed in 87 days.
