MP: Woman allegedly kills her children after dispute with husband over 'affair'

The husband did not consider the children as his own and used to fight with his wife over her alleged illicit relationship with a villager.

Seoni: Two children were killed allegedly by their mother after she threw them into a dam reservoir at Gadarwara village in Madhya Pradesh's Seoni district following a dispute with her husband, police said on Tuesday.

The woman's husband suspected her of having an illicit relationship with a villager.

He also did not consider the children as his own and used to fight with his wife over the issue following which since last one year she was living with her parents in the same village.

The woman, on November 6 took her two kids Akash (3) and Akansha (5) to a dam and pushed them in the reservoir following which they died, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Ghansour, J P Varma said.

While the body of Akash was recovered on Monday, Akansha was found on Tuesday, Varma said.

The woman later alleged that her husband had killed the children.

However, police got suspicious and questioned the woman who later admitted the crime. She was arrested under sections 302, 201 and 120 B of IPC, the SDOP said, adding further investigations into the case are going on.
