Hyderabad: Doctors seek returns for rural service
Because of the shortage of assistant professors, it is now becoming difficult to handle the existing post-graduates
Hyderabad: With more than 1,000 vacancies in the Telangana state government hospitals, senior residents who have completed their one-year rural service are demanding that they be given first preference in filling the vacancies.
The Telangana Junior Doctor’s Association has demanded that the senior residents have completed their one-year rural service and have first-hand experience in working in government colleges and hence can aptly help in filling the existing void.
Because of the shortage of assistant professors, it is now becoming difficult to handle the existing post-graduates and also manage the load of the patients. With the demonetisation too, the load of patients in government hospitals has seen a rise.
Dr G Srinvias, president of TJUDA says, “The government must give a fair chance to the post-graduates. They can conduct examinations if required. But they must be given a preference.”
