Hyderabad: Fog delayed a few flights at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport early on Sunday.

RGIA was covered under a blanked of fog. An official said the airport had CAT-IIIA system that enabled the landing and taking off of aircraft even during foggy conditions.

He said other airports were also affected by fog, and the delay was caused by delayed arrivals and inability to operate flights via those airports.

The thick fog in the areas surrounding Shamshabad, like Rajendranagar, Shadnagar, on the National Highway to Bengaluru, and on the Outer Ring Road affected traffic for some time.

Many drivers preferred to park their vehicles on the side of the road and wait for the fog to clear. Others drove cautiously, using fog lamps and hazard lights.
