BJP protests against H D Kumaraswamy's charge
Mr Kumaraswamy had alleged that a BJP corporator had provided money for the murder of Deepak Rao.
MANGAURU: Scores of supporters of BJP corporator, Tilak Raj, staged a protest state JD (S) president H D Kumaraswamy and burnt his effigy for allegations aired in Mysuru that their leader had given supari to kill Deepak Rao, on Monday.
Mr Kumaraswamy had alleged that a BJP corporator had provided money for the murder of Deepak Rao. This statement went viral and messages made rounds that the BJP corporator hinted at by Mr Kumaraswamy was Tilak Raj of Surathkal.
Mr Tilak Raj who arrived at the spot said he was pained by allegations made against him. “Kumaraswamy believes in God and oaths. Let him come to any religioius place. I am swear about my innocence. Mr Kumaraswamy does not know who Tilak Raj is and who Deepak Rao is. He is issuing such statement due to support from the local MLA,” he alleged. Protestors alleged that local MLA Moideen Bava's brother B M Farooq, a JD(S) leader, was known for his proximity to Mr Kumaraswamy.
