Hyderabad: 2 die in mishaps, organs donated

Venkata Ramana were donated to the Jeevandan scheme of the government after they were declared brain-dead.

The Dharmapuri district police suspect the death of a missing girl to be a case of murder, as her relatives allegedly hushed up the issue and planned to cremate her body without informing the police.

Hyderabad: Six organs of a farmer G. Sandappa, 50, and five organs of 23-year-old A. Venkata Ramana were donated to the Jeevandan scheme of the government after they were declared brain-dead. 

Sandappa, a resident of Nedugurthi in Mahabubnagar, was hit by a car from behind when he was on his two-wheeler. 

He suffered a severe head injury and was taken first to a local hospital and then shifted to Global Hospitals. He was under observation but succumbed to injuries later. 

The neuro-physician there declared him brain dead. Venkata Ramana was hit by an unknown vehicle when he was crossing the road at CM camp office. 

He was rushed to Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda in a serious condition. Doctors declared him brain dead after which his parents consented to donating five of his organs.
