Kerala fee committee sets Rs 4.85 lakh fee for Travancore Medical College

THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM: Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC) for medical education in Kerala has fixed Rs 4,85,000/- fee per student for Travancore Medical College, Kollam for the Academic year of 2017-18.

In an order issued on Monday, the AFRC directed the College to collect the above tuition fee of Rs 4,85,000/- only from Students for the year 2017-18. Any amount collected in excess of the above amount, should be returned to the student or appropriated towards future fee. it said.

The AFRC also fixed the tuition fee for the academic year 2018-19 at Rs 5,56,000/- per student. The institution has been directed to collect the above tuition fee Rs 5,60,000/- only from the students for the academic year 2018-19 only.

The college had requested to fix minimum fee at Rs 11,50,000/- (Rupees Eleven Lakh Fifty Thousand Only ) for the 85 seats and Rs 20,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Lakhs only) for 15 NRI seats.

The AFRC fixed the fee after verification of the entire documents submitted by the medical college.

The AFRC fixed Rs 4,81,200 per student for Mount Zion Medical College, Adoor as tuition fee for the academic year 2017-18. The amount collected in excess of the above amount, if any, should be returned to the student or appropriated towards future fee, the commission said.
