Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) has supported EBC bill moved by the Central government on Tuesday by proposing some amendments. But the bill was passed without making any amendments suggested by TRS and other opposition parties.

Earlier TRS MP A.P. Jithendar Reddy, speaking in Lok Sabha on EBC bill, said that their party was supporting the bill by proposing some amendments. In the morning, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had directed the TRS MPs to request for the amendments of providing 10 per cent reservations to the EBCs which introduced by the central government in the Parliament. The CM said that the Telangana state Legislative Assembly has made a resolution of providing 12 per reservations for backward Muslims and 10 per reservations for STs and sent it to Union government. He said that this resolution should be introduced in the Parliament.

Mr Rao said that as the Central government has decided to take the issue of reservations and asked the MPs to raise the issue of providing reservations to the backward Muslims and STs.  He told the MPs to insist for the amendment of the bill for the cause of Telangana state demand.
