Hyderabad: Ration dealers, who had earlier complained about delayed stock deliveries for distribution, finally received the supplies on Monday. Earlier in the day, they said that such delays were unprecedented. N. Raju, president of the Telangana Ration Dealers Association, noted, "We finally got approval for the distribution of rice. People are enquiring about the status of the nine essential food items promised by the Congress in its manifesto."

Anand, vice-president of the Telangana Ration Dealers Association, explained, "We received rice three days ago but didn't get the approval for distributing it free of cost. The online approval was granted today."

When questioned about the reason for the delay in rice distribution this month, deputy commissioner of the Civil Supplies Corporation P. Lakshmi Bhavani said, "Distribution of rice has started. The Centre approved the 5 kg of rice, and the state's approval was required, leading to the delay."
