Jayalalithaa flags off 766 new buses at a cost of Rs 144.47 cr

Chennai: Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Monday has flagged off 701 new government buses and 65 small buses at a cost of Rs 144.47 crore.
An official release stated that Jayalalithaa inaugurated the services in the secretariat. Of this 52 buses would be operated by Metropolitan Transport Corporation, Chennai, 97 by Tamil Nadu StateTransport Corporation, Villupuram, 85 by TNSTC Salem, 93 by TNSTC, Coimbatore, 202 by TNSTC, Kumbakonam, 154 by TNSTC, Madurai, 18 buses by TNSTC, Tirunelveli division. She has also flagged off 65 new small buses in in Chennai. The small buses will be operated on 30 routes by MTC.
Among others minister for industries and transport, P. Thangamani minister for health, Dr C.Vijaya Baskar, chief secretary K. Gnanadesikan and government advisor Sheela Balakrishnan were present on the occasion.
