Hyderabad's most congested routes to get some relief
The city's first multi-grade separator is being planned between the Mehdipatnam and Gachibowli junctions.
Hyderabad: One of city’s most congested routes — the notorious Mehdipatnam to Hitech City strech that sees over 1 lakh commuters every hour, is set to finally get some relief.
The city’s first multi-grade separator is being planned between the Mehdipatnam and Gachibowli junctions. Officials are confident these will help the city’s worsening traffic situation.
The first flyover, which will be 650 metres in length, will start from Gachibowli to Mehdipatnam. The second flyover — a kilometre in length — will travel from Mehdipatnam to MindSpace, Raheja IT Park. These flyovers will cross each other at various junctions, similar to that of city flyover and Metro via ducts.
The first crossing will be at a height of six metres while the second at 13 meters. The much-needed infra boost for the south-west part of the city is finally being executed under strategic road development plan.
“A multi grade separator is unlike a flyover — it is uni-directional and it allows traffic flow in several different lanes. The facilities will ensure that vehicles move without having to halt or get caught in traffic jams,” a senior official said.
