BSP, SP supporters fight it out in Hatras district in UP.
Lucknow: A BSP worker was killed and five others injured in a clash with Samajwadi Party supporters in Hathras on Wednesday.
According to the reports, supporters of SP candidate and sitting MLA from Sadabad, Devendra Agarwal, allegedly attacked a vehicle carrying supporters of the BSP candidate Ramvir Upadhyaya and also his son Chiragvir Upadhyaya. The SP workers reportedly indulged in brick-batting and attacked the BSP workers with rods.
They also opened fire in which Pushpendra, 30, was killed and five others, including the BSP candidate's son, were injured.
Dilip Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Hathras, said that cross FIRs have been registered on the basis of the complaints filed by the two sides,
Additional forces have been deployed in the area to prevent fallout of the incident and the deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
In another incident, two bullet-riddled bodies, one identified as the brother of an RLD candidate, were found on Wednesday morning in a mango orchard near Khurja in Bulandshahr district, police said.
The bodies of Vinod Gautam, elder brother of Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Manoj Gautam and Sachin (25) were found a day after they went missing, SP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma said. The police are on the look out for one Parminder, who had left the party office along with the two.
