TNCC seeks President intervention
The Congress leader supported DMK working president M.K. Stalin's statement that the DMK is not behind the OPS revolt.
Chennai: TNCC president S. Thirunavukkarasar charged Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao with failing to discharge his constitutional duties and demanded the direct intervention of President Pranab Mukherkee to form a stable government in the state.
The Congress leader supported DMK working president M.K. Stalin’s statement that the DMK is not behind the OPS revolt, but said the BJP is behind the whole episode.
“Where is the Governor when the state is facing an extraordinary political situation? It takes just two to three hours to come from Mumbai to Chennai”, he said. The Governor went to New Delhi immediately after Sasikala was elected by AIADMK MLAs as Chief Minister and returned to Mumbai instead of Chennai.” The inaction of the Governor reveals the BJP hand in the matter,” he alleged.
When asked what action should be taken by the Governor, Thirunavukkarasu said the Governor could consult the legal experts and take whatever suitable action that seemed appropriate. He also said it is the right of the AIADMK to elect its Chief Minister, he added.
