New Delhi: The approval of the Prime Minister is needed to suspend IAS officers working under central government, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Wednesday.

In a written reply to Lok Sabha, he said IAS officers working under central government shall only be suspended on the recommendations of the Central Review Committee with the approval of Minister-in-Charge, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The Prime Minister is in charge of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, under which DoPT comes.
