Hassan: In an embarrassment for the Siddaramaiah government, Hassan Deputy Commissioner, Rohini Sindhuri Dasari has approached the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) opposing her "premature transfer."

Ms Dasari was transferred along with seven IAS officers and appointed commissioner, Department of Employment and Training, Bengaluru on Wednesday. She was, in fact, transferred nearly three or four weeks ago, but her move was stayed by the  Election Commission, which objected to  transfers being made when the electoral rolls were being prepared.

A day after her formal transfer, Ms Dasari  petitioned the CAT Thursday morning, protesting that she had been removed before she could  complete the mandatory two years as Hassan DC. Additional advocate general,  Ponnanna, appearing for the government, said he would file a reply on March 12 and  gave an undertaking that Ms Dasari would not be transferred till March 13. The next hearing is on March 13.

A section of Congress leaders have been gunning for Ms Dasari as she is a stickler for rules. On hearing of her transfer, these leaders burst crackers and distributed sweets in celebration unlike local organisations, which don't want  her to go on account of  the good work she has been doing. To the discomfort of the  government a video of an alleged conversation between two Congress leaders of Hassan claiming responsibility  for Ms Dasari's transfer went viral a while ago.
