CM Pinarayi Vijayan flays anti-government propaganda
Pinarayi blames intolerance' of RMP for violence in Vadakara.
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday accused "anti-government" forces, including the Sangh Parivar, of unleashing propaganda about law and order breakdown in the state. He also sniped at the slain RMP leader T. P. Chandrasekharan’s wife K. K. Rema saying she was staging a demonstration before AKG Bhavan, his party’s headquarters in New Delhi, which had earlier came under the Sangh Parivar attack.
He alleged that vested interest groups had “sponsored” the recent violence in Vadakara involving his CPM and the RMP and they included IUML MLA Parakkal Abdulla, who wanted to discuss it. Mr Vijayan said the locality was peaceful for a month and Mr Abulla’s adjournment motion was with political intentions. He blamed "intolerance of RMP activists" for the unrest and claimed its cadres were rejoining the CPM.
“He might have raised the issue in the house now as (these) forces were losing their strength. The Sangh Parivar was even carrying out propaganda that Kerala was unsafe to live. Such attempts to demoralise the state was being strongly resisted,” he said. Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala flayed the adverse comment of E M S Namboodirpad’s son-in-law C. K. Guptan against Ms Rema. He said the CPM and RSS were two sides of a coin. He said the grudge of CPM towards the breakaway party seemed to have not ended even with the brutal killing of her husband six years back.
