Bengaluru: Power cut hits students hard
Many are preparing for their annual and board exams. We have had power cuts for 40 mins 4 times a day, says Pre-University student.
Bengaluru: With board and other exams nearing, the frequent power cuts in several parts of the city over the last few days has left students and their parents anxious.
Complaints of disruptions in power have come in from areas like Indiranagar, Banaswadi, Kammanahalli, Horamavu, Ramamurthy Nagar, K R Puram, Pulakeshi Nagar, R R Nagar, Byatarayanapura, and Vijayanagar.
Several residents have posted their complaints about the power cuts on social media saying they were coming in the way of students preparing for their Pre-University and other exams.
Said Pallava Gowda, a first Pre-University student from Domlur, “We have had power cuts of 30 to 40 minutes three or four times a day, which hampers our preparation for our exams. Bescom had assured us that there would not be any loadshedding or power cuts, but it appears to be already introducing them.”
When contacted Bescom officials, however, claimed there was no loadshedding anywhere in the city.
Said one officer, “We agree that there were power cuts in a few parts of the city on Thursday due to technical issues in the feeder stations. However, the power was restored once the fault was rectified.”
