DC Impact: War widows can approach welfare association
The facilities are extended to kin of CRPF and BSF personnel too.
Chennai: Responding to a DC report of a BSF person serving in the border about the desperatesituation in which his mother was living in Salem district and appealed for help for her, Mrs Susheela Rajendran, founder president of the War Widows Welfare Association, says the association serves the objective of taking care of such families in need.
“We have residential facilities with food, medical assistance and physiotherapy and can extend these facilities to such families as long as they need and even till their last days.
Though we had originally extended this service only to the families of military persons, we have now decided to extend the facilities to the families of BSF and CRPF men also considering that, they also are serving our Nation at great personal risk, protecting our borders from aggressors,” Mrs Rajendran said.
