Diversion to ease traffic at Vytilla
The construction of the metro pillar at hub entrance road will start in two weeks. Hence the diversion will in effect for some time.
Kochi: With a view to decongest busy Vytilla junction, the traffic police has started diverting city buses coming from Kadavanthra side and proceeding to Trippunithura, Aroor and Alappuzha directions. "Such buses will not be allowed to cross over the National Highway, which is one of the reasons for the congestion at Vytilla where the flyover and metro constructions works are progressing simultaneously. Instead, the buses should take the Old Tammanam Road and turn right from Ponnurunni Temple Junction to proceed via NH Under pass to reach the Vytilla service road. The vehicles coming from Tammanam bridge should also proceed via NH Under pass," said K.A. Abdul Salam, ACP, Traffic East.
The measure will be in force for the next few months. "The construction of the metro pillar at hub entrance road will start in two weeks. Hence the diversion will be in effect for some time. Also we've made provisions for vehicles to enter the hub road before the Vytilla panchayat office," he said.
