Hyderabad will host TRS plenary meeting on April 27
About 150 party leaders and workers from each Assembly constituency are to be invited and over 1,500 would take part in the plenary.
Hyderabad: The city will host the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s plenary meeting on April 27 yet again. Last year, the plenary was held in a hall in Kompally on the city’s outskirts.
TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to continue with the same venue, contrary to reports that the party would hold the meeting in Nalgonda in a crucial election year.
Nalgonda remains a strong bastion for the main opposition party Congress as all big Congress leaders represent Nalgonda and the TRS wanted to make its presence felt in the district by holding the plenary here. But the CM dropped his plans at the last minute and stuck to Hyderabad.
About 150 party leaders and workers from each Assembly constituency are to be invited and over 1,500 would take part in the plenary.
Government whip in the TS Legislative Cou-ncil, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said on Sunday that the CM has finalised Hyderabad as the venue for the ensuing plenary. Mr Reddy said the party will make arrangements on a grand scale for the event.
“The plenary will pass various resoluti-ons on welfare schem-es and development programmes being implemented by the TRS government for the last four years. Resolutions on political developments will also be approved,” Mr Reddy stated.
TRS parliamentary party leader K Keshava Rao will head the committee on resolutions, which will decide the resolutions to be adopted.
The CM will annou-nce other committees for the event soon. Mr Reddy also announced plans for a big public rally in the city in October/November. The beneficiaries of all welfare schemes implemented by the TRS government will be invited. The aim is to make this rally the biggest one to be held in the city’s history, Mr Reddy said.
