Ex-DG Intelligence in touch with Chandrababu Naidu
Sources said that Mr Rao gave his two-month leave letter signed by then chief secretary A.C. Punetha, who too was removed by the EC.
Hyderabad: Days after he was asked to report to the police headquarters, former DG Intelligence A.B. Venkateswara Rao was spotted in the headquarters.
On Sunday, YSRC MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy had petitioned the EC alleging that Mr Rao had continued to do his official work despite being shunted out by the poll panel. Sources said that Mr Rao gave his two-month leave letter signed by then chief secretary A.C. Punetha, who too was removed by the EC.
Over the last few days, Mr Rao was seen regularly going in and out of the CM’s camp office where he is believed to spend several hours everyday. Following the YSRC petition, AP chief secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam is understood to have sought an explanation from DGP R.P. Thakur over allegations that Mr Rao was still interfering in the day-to-day functioning. Both Mr Thakur and DIG G. Srinivas, against whom allegations have been made, are said to be giving an explanation to the chief secretary.
