Stalin to blame for Karunanidhi death: Tamil Nadu CM
Though Karunanidhi was keeping good health otherwise, he was unable to speak due to some underlying health issue, says TN CM.
Ooty: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy on Monday blamed DMK chief M.K. Stalin for the death of his father M. Karunanidhi and said the government would investigate the charge, which he claimed, was made by even some DMK members.
Instead of taking his father abroad for special treatment when his speech got impaired despite the other parameters being normal, Stalin kept him "in house arrest for nearly two years", the CM said at his poll rally at Coonoor.
"Though Karunanidhi was keeping good health otherwise, he was unable to speak due to some underlying health issue. It could have been treated and he could have been cured had he been taken abroad for treatment. Stalin did not do it. To get to the political forefront and out of selfish motive, Stalin kept his father in house arrest for nearly two years. Even some DMK members are talking about this now.
And so the government will order investigation into the mystery shrouding Karunanithi's death" CM Palaniswamy said. He said Stalin was making baseless charges of corruption against the AIADMK Government whereas he had now fielded as his party candidate someone who had spent time in jail in connection with the 2-G case. He was referring to the Nilgiris DMK candidate A. Raja.
