Will resign if TRS loses Palair bypoll, says KT Rama Rao
Congress leaders do not have the right to talk about humanity, says KTR
Khammam: Industries minister K.T. Rama Rao on Sunday said that he would resign from the TS Cabinet if R&B minister and TRS candidate for the Palair Assembly bypoll loses, and challenged TPCC chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy to do the same if Congress candidate Sucharita Reddy is defeated.
Accusing the Congress leaders of reaching a new low in politics by forcing Ms Sucharita Reddy to campaign under the scorching sun even though she was in mourning, Mr Rama Rao said, “If the Congress was really sincere about its good wishes for Ramreddy’s family, the party would have nominated the late MLA’s wife to the Legislative Council, instead of forcing her to contest the bypoll.”
Stating that the Congress leaders do not have the right to talk about humanity, morality and sobriety, he said, “It is nothing but the devil chanting the Vedas.”
The Congress is becoming habituated to tasting defeat in every election, Mr Rama Rao said, demanding the main Opposition party apologise for striking an alliance with the TD which is opposing irrigation projects in TS.
