Irom Sharmila to continue activism after marriage
Sharmila is expected to stay another week in Kodaikanal.
Madurai: Rights activist Irom Sharmila (45) who visited Kodaikanal hills along with her British partner told a source that she would continue her activism even after her wedding, which is scheduled in end July in Tamil Nadu.
After Sharmila faced her worst defeat in the recently held assembly election in Manipur, she along with her partner Desmond Coutinho came on a tour of southern Indian States. She and her partner have been staying in a cottage in Perumalamalai in Kodaikanal hills for a month now.
On Monday, when our source met Sharmila in the resort, she agreed to interact with him on condition that he should not carry a camera kit into the room.
Accepting her request, the source met Sharmila and Desmond Coutinho in the cottage. Sharmila informed the source that though she has moved away from active politics, she would continue to fight as right activist. Both had confirmed that they would be getting married soon and are planning to settle down in TN. Sharmila is expected to stay another week in Kodaikanal.
