BENGALURU: A complaint was filed with the Income Tax department against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah, seeking a probe into the money trail of hundreds of crores routed through the companies in which he is a stakeholder.

The complainant, Varthur Kanaka Das, filed the complaint on Friday, requesting for the investigation and prosecution under the Benami Property Transaction Act, 1988.

“Dr Yathindra, Equity Share Holder and Former Director of M/s Matrix Imaging Solutions Private Limited, Bangalore, is a doctor by profession and is presently also having several diagnostic centres in Bangalore and Mumbai, carrying out business in the name of Prasiddh YS Diagnostics. He is also the major shareholder of M/s Matrix Imaging Solutions Private Limited. Dr Yathindra and the said firm has made several benami transactions worth hundreds of crores in the names of his benamis - one Mr. Chirthahalli Mudalagiriyappa Rajesh Gowda and Malagonahally Uddappa Thejaswini - both of whom are presently Directors of the company,” the complainant alleged.

“Even presently the company is being wholly owned and the shares are being controlled by Dr Yathindra for carrying out various benami transactions in the accounts of the company which are located at Corporation Bank in Mahalakshmi Layout Branch, Bangalore. The sources of funds for the sudden growth of this company have to be investigated, whether it is from political sources of funds. Various real estate transactions have taken place in Mumbai and Bengaluru wherein the link between the Benamis – Rajesh Gowda and Thejaswini – is Dr. Yathindra, for the money is being invested in their names by Dr Yathindra and properties worth hundreds of crores have been purchased in Mysuru, Bandra (Mumbai) and in Dubai,” the complaint stated.

“Very frequently, there have been many trips to foreign nations by these three people for transferring of the money in offshore accounts and from there the money is again routed back to India in the form of setting up of Medical Tourism Business and all the ill-gotten wealth has become clean donations for development of the diagnostics centres in India, especially in Bengaluru and Mumbai,” the complainant alleged.
