Odisha's father-son duo clears HSC exam with same marks
Bej Senior, now 58, had to discontinue his studies after his father's demise.
BALASORE: A father-son duo of Odisha’s Balasore district has cleared the annual high school certificate examinations conducted by Odisha State Open School with equal marks.
When the results of the State Open School Certificate Examination were announced on Monday, both Arun Kumar Bej (58) and his son Biswajit Bej (30) passed the exam with 342 marks. While Arun, a BJP district leader, left his studies after the death of his father when he was in Class-VII, Biswajit had not cleared his HSC examinations. He is running a stationery store.
Joy erupted in the family after declaration of the results on Monday, with the duo becoming matriculates at the same time scoring same marks.
The senior Bej has expressed his desire to enroll for higher education in IGNOU. “There is no age to pursue studies. I will continue my studies and complete at least graduation course,” said Mr Bej, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 assembly election from Jaleswar.
