Temperature set to rise by 2-3 degrees in many parts of Telangana
Across the state, the temperature was above 40°C. The highest 43°C was reported at Ramagundam.
Hyderabad: The state is under heat wave alert after a break from thunderstorm activities. From May 9 to 11, the maximum temperature will rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal for this time of year. Temperatures may cross 43 degrees Celsius in Northern Telangana including Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet.
After a dip in temperatures recorded in the first week of May, mercury levels picked up on Tuesday. Across the state, the temperature was above 40 degrees C.
The highest at 43°C was reported at Ramagundam, followed by 42°C in Adilabad, Khammam, Medak, Nizamabad, 41°C at Badrachalam, Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda. Throughout the state, dry weather prevailed, except for scanty rainfall in isolated areas. The forecast for the capital city and the rest of the districts: Rain or thundershowers in the city towards evening or night and the day and night temperatures are likely to be around 41°C and 27°C respectively. Maximum temperature likely to be around 43 to 45 degrees Celsius over some parts of Telangana.
There is a thunderstorm warning as well. The state may witness thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds at isolated places in all districts of Telangana. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur.
