Telangana engineering colleges' list being readied
A preliminary list has been prepared with 30 colleges denied affiliation and were asked to send their explanations on deficiency reports.
Hyderabad: With engineering counseling set to begin from June 22, the task before the government is to announce the new list of private engineering colleges that fulfilled norms and guidelines. Accordingly, JNTU-Hyderabad and Vigilance wings have been directed to expedite their works.
Vigilance wing has been asked to complete its inspection by June 15. JNTU authorities are finalising affiliated colleges list for this year. A preliminary list has been prepared with 30 colleges denied affiliation and were asked to send their explanations on deficiency reports.
The varsity is currently going through private colleges’ replies and the final list would be prepared at the earliest, JNTU Registrar, N Yadaiah said.
Meanwhile, a private engineering college owner said that 90 percent of colleges were inspected by June first week itself. Different inspection teams, each of six to seven officials drawn from Commercial Tax, Revenue, Fire, Vigilance, Education, Panchyat Raj etc visited these colleges.
“They checked JNTU, AICTE affiliation certificates. Also details about teaching and non-teaching faculty, salaries being paid to them, bank account details, statement of the last one year as well as documents,” he said.
