US-made rocket launcher found by bomb disposal squad in Mathura park

Lucknow: A US made rocket launcher has been found by the bomb disposal squad while combing the Jawahar Bagh area in Mathura. The deadly weapon was found when the security officials were searching the 270 acres of government land, which was encroached by Swadheen Bharat Vidhik Satyagrahi outfit.

SSP Mathura Bablu Kumar told reporters that the rocket launcher was recovered from the Jawahar Bagh and was inscribed with “Launcher, Made in USA”. The police are now probing as to who supplied the sophisticated weapons to the group.

The members of the cult were heavily armed and outnumbered the policemen which went to evict the encroachers from the Jawahar Bagh on June 2. Grenades and automatic weapons were freely used against the police and two  two police officials lost their lives in the clashes.
