Chennai: Tamil film ‘superstar’ Rajinikanth who had indicated about the possibility of his political plunge and triggered an intense debate while raising the expectations of his fans, will meet fans in the second round of interaction in another two months.

The superstar had met the members and functionaries of the Rajinikanth Fan Association from May 15 to 19. He returned to the city on Thursday after completing the shoot for the first schedule of his upcoming Tamil film Pa Ranjith’s Kaala, in Mumbai. Speaking to reporters at the airport here, he said he would meet his fans in another two months. The actor, however, declined to answer any queries on the “warlike” situation prevailing in Tamil Nadu politics.

During his first interaction with his fans after a gap of eight years, Rajini had met the functionaries from 15 districts including Madurai, Tirunelveli and Tiruppur. He is likely to meet fans from the remaining 17 districts of Tamil Nadu in the second round of interaction.

At the session with his fans last month Rajini had asked them to prepare the ground for a war and said they would have to assemble when the battle is fought.
In the olden days, he said, kings seldom maintained standing armies, but the men turned up when duty called, he had said.

“When war comes they will come to the rescue of their motherland. I have a profession, work, duty and so do you. Go to your places, do your duty, take care of your vocation. Let us face the war when it comes,” he had said.
