Monsoon covers entire Telangana in 24 hours

Usually, the rains take 48-72 hours to cover the state, but this year it has advanced at greater speed.

Hyderabad: The southwest monsoon has advanced into Telangana and has covered the entire state in a span of 24 hours starting from June 7. The official onset of the rainy season began on June 8. Usually, the rains take 48-72 hours to cover the state, but this year it has advanced at greater speed.

The northern Telangana districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar and Nizamabad are the last to receive rains, but recorded heavy rainfall between June 7 and 8. 

The southwest monsoons entered the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh on June 4. It took four days to cover Rayalaseema and most parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh up to Kalingapatnam.
