BJP defeated Gabbar Singh of Kalaburagi in Lok Sabha poll: Malikayya Guttedar
I want to specially thank the BJP workers, who worked hard to send home the Solillada Saradar (Mr Kharge), says Malikayya Guttedar.
Kalaburagi: Likening veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge to the ruthless dacoit, Gabbar Singh, in the iconic Hindi film, Sholay, former minister, Malikayya Guttedar on Saturday observed that he had remained invincible in Kalaburagi till he met his Waterloo in the recent Lok Sabha election.
Mr Guttedar, who played a crucial role in the campaign against Mr Kharge, was speaking at a function to honour the newly elected MP from Kalaburagi, Dr Umesh Jadhav, his son, Dr Avinash Jadhav who won from Chincholi and BJP leaders, who worked for their victory .
"I want to specially thank the BJP workers, who worked hard to send home the Solillada Saradar (Mr Kharge). The battle for this Lok Sabha seat was as intense as the fights in the famous Hindi film, Sholay. In this show, while Mr Yeddyurappa (state BJP leader) played the role of Sanjeev Kumar (Thakur), I played the role of Amithabh Bachan (Jai) and Mr Baburao Chinchansur that of Dharmendra (Veeru). Like Samba, (former minister) Dr Sharanprakash Patil tried hard to save his master, but he could not," Mr Guttedar elaborated.
Clearly in an ebullient mood following the BJP's victory against Mr Kharge in Kalaburagi, he also took a dig at Chief Minister H D Kumarasway for the defeat of his son Nikhil in Mandya.
