Impressive array of tools, textile machinery on show

INTEC trade fair unfolds in Manchester of the South.

Coimbatore: Over 626 exhibitors from across India and from various countries are taking part in the 18th edition of International Machine Tools and Industrial Trade Fair (INTEC) in Coimbatore. It attracts thousands of business visitors from all over country. 

The five-day exhibition from Saturday, organised by the Codissia Intec Technology Centre, was inaugurated at Codissia trade fair complex in Coimbatore. Various machine manufacturers from across country and also from abroad took part in the event and exhibited more 200 products.

Machine manufacturers from various sectors including electrical and electronics, general engineering, textile, fabrication and equipments, machine tools and accessories,  foundry equipments, pumps and equipments, instrumentations automation, pollution control equipments and industrial consumables.  

On the sidelines of the fair, about 40 new products were launched by the participants at the ‘Launch platform facility’. Coimbatore-based ELGi Equipments showcased an upgraded range of encapsulated (ENCAP/EN) screw air compressors with variable frequency drives (VFD) and heat recovery systems.

Speaking about the event, Jairam Varadaraj, managing director, ELGi Equipments, said, “energy accounts for almost 75 - 80% of the lifecycle cost of an air compressor.
