Kishan takes up Prem murder with DGP
The DGP said that a detailed report will be submitted after they complete the investigation.
Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) M. Mahendar Reddy and other top officers briefed the Union Minister of the state for home affairs G. Kishan Reddy regarding the law and order situation in the state.
During the meeting, the minister reportedly inquired about the death of Prem Kumar, who was allegedly murdered by a TRS activist while he was celebrating election results with BJP workers.
The DGP said that a detailed report will be submitted after they complete the investigation. Mr Kishan Reddy asked the police to take strict action against those behind the murder.
At a party event late on Friday night, Mr Kishan Reddy said, “There are many activists who have given up their lives for the sake of the ideology. In a recent incident, BJP activist Prem Kumar was murdered in Mahbub-nagar simply because he worked for BJP's victory in the MPTC elections.”
Such attacks are still taking place in Nagar Kurnool, Siddipet and a few other areas in the state, he alleged. “As a BJP leader and Union Minister, I strongly condemn the murder of Prem Kumar in Mahbub-nagar. I urge the police to take strict action against all individuals who perpetrate such acts,” he said.
Mr Kishan Reddy said the BJP always stands by its workers in their fight against injustice and declared with certainty that the party would stand by them through this as well. “The TRS needs to understand that BJP activists won’t simply succumb to suppression,” he said at the meeting, which was primarily organised to welcome him.
He then left to go to Tirupati to oversee arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting and darshan at the Lord Balaji temple on Monday.
