Andhra Pradesh decides to set up innovation society

Vijayawada: The AP Cabinet has decided to set up the AP Innovation Society, the first of its kind in the country, with district chapters, to develop innovative skills in students. This novel decision was taken by the state Cabinet, which met at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office here on Friday.
Informing this decision to the Cabinet, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the government would set up innovation centres in schools and colleges. Incubation centres would be set up as a start-up policy to train the youth in data collection and biometric systems, he added.
Innovation centres would be developed for each department. Minister for information and public relations Palle Raghunatha Reddy told reporters that the Cabinet had decided to start the classes of IIIT Ongole at RK Valley. Classes for Srikakulam IIIT and Nuzvid IIIT would start on the premises from this academic year, the minister added.
