Hyderabad High Court to hear split case on July 21
Court asked counsels representing Telangana, AP and the Centre to prepare to argue on petitions seeking review of the order.
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday asked counsels representing Telangana, AP and the Centre to prepare to argue on petitions seeking review of the order on bifurcation of the High Court between the two states, on July 21.
When the petitions by the Telangana state government and Ravinder Reddy (a petitioner who had impleaded in the case in which the HC gave a decision that two HCs cannot be run in common capital), came up for hearing before a division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice P. Naveen Rao, the AP counsel sought an adjournment as AP advocate-general Dammalapati Srinivas was unable to attend court.
Gandra Mohan Rao, counsel for Mr Ravinder Reddy, urged the court to take up the hearing as the Winter Session of Parliament was nearing, and the Centre had been stating that it was not in a position to take a decision as the matter may sub-judice in view of the pendency of the review petitions.
The bench said the HC had nothing to do with the sessions. Counsel for the TS government sought posting of the case to July 12 as Srinivas would be available, as per the submissions made by AP counsel. Assistant solicitor-general of India Narayana Reddy urged the court to post the case after July 20.
