BJP\'s Bandi Sanjay slams CM Chandrashekar Rao for secret pact with Jagan Mohan Reddy
Sanjay lashed out at Rao for compromising the interests of the state in sharing Krishna waters
Mahbubnagar: State BJP president Bandi Sanjay on Friday said that if the BJP was voted to power in Telangana, a 125-feet statue of Ambedkar would be installed in the heart of Hyderabad and they would expand the Bhagyalakshmi temple in the Old City to majestic levels.
He was speaking at Kollapur after spending the day at Nagarkurnool, the Somasila project site, and Kollapur.
Participating in impressive rallies, he took potshots at Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for his inaction on several issues, including sharing of river waters and addressing the unemployment problem.
Sanjay lashed out at Rao for compromising the interests of the state in sharing Krishna waters. He cautioned that if this continues, the day would not be far when erstwhile Mahbubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts become deserts. He said that supply of drinking water to Hyderabad from Nagarjunasagar would be affected if Rayalaseema leaders lift waters from Pothireddypadu. He alleged that the CM intentionally ensured delay of Krishna River Board Management (KRMB) meeting as it would help his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to finalise tenders on Sangameswaram and Pothireddypadu lifts.
Speaking to the media at the Somasila project site, the BJP leader said that Somasila- Siddeswaram bridge, which BJP-led Centre has taken up with an outlay of `1,200 crore would reduce the distance to Tirupati by 80 kilometres and transform the economy in the most inaccessible region of the district. He said Rs 29 crore has been sanctioned for the draft project report (DPR) and if the state cooperates, the works could be expedited.
At Kollapur, Sanjay said that the two Telugu Chief Ministers were enacting dramas on water and disturbing peace in Telangana state by deploying police pickets at power generation utilities in Jurala, Srisailam, and Nagarjunasagar.
Earlier in the day, speaking at Nagarkurnool after inaugurating the party office, Sanjay said that Rao’s ‘dictatorial regime would be a thing of the past’.
An impressive rally was taken out with thousands of vehicles at Nagarkurnool while he himself drove a bike.
