Telangana: Speed up, DGP tells BSNL

Hyderabad: Director-general of police Anurag Sharma told BSNL employees to speed up the implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems by replacing the old cables in police stations in Cyberabad. Mr Sharma reviewed the progress of the works and directed all department to complete it by March 2017. He also reviewed the Inter-operable Criminal Justice System which is being implemented as a pilot project.
The Union home ministry has allocated Rs 2,000 crore for the CCTNS which is a mission mode project under the Centre’s National e-Governance Plan. IT connects 35 states and Union Territories, linking more than 14,000 police stations and 6,000 offices. CCTNS will help exchange of information across the country and serves as an advanced tool for investigation.
Officials said that 86 per cent of the work related to data digitisation and verifications was complete except in a few police stations in remote areas and in Cyberabad and Hyderabad.
