Bengaluru: Unexpected visitor at HK Patil's house... a snake
Rat snakes and cobras are frequently found in the city.
Bengaluru: Rural Development and Panchayat Minister H.K Patil had an unexpected visitor at his residence on Thursday morning! A five-foot long rat snake was found within his compound and near the staircase of his residence.
The BBMP control room was immediately informed, “We spotted it behind some flower pots in the Minister's house and we could rescue it using bare hands,” said Prasad, rescue person from the BBMP.
Prasad explained that rat snakes are territorial in nature and they need to be relocated in a suitable habitat. “We released it in Cubbon Park. If it were an aquatic snake, we would have had to find a water body," Prasad said.
Rat snakes and cobras are frequently found in the city and they often stray into human habitats due to dwindling green cover. Last week two snakes, a rat snake and a cobra, were rescued.
