Coimbatore: A 50-year-old man was trampled to death by a herd of elephants in Coimbatore forest division in the early hours of Friday. According to S.Ramasubramaniam, Forest conservator, Radhakrishnan 50, a daily wage labourer from Anaikatty in Coimbatore suburbs was working in a brick chamber in same area. The incident took place around 5.30 am on Friday while Radhakrishnan was heading to the brick chamber to unload sand from lorries. While crossing a huge pit covered with shrubs, he failed to notice a herd of elephants blocking his way due to poor lighting.
