90 metric urea to be distributed by September 12

The minister said that special vehicles would transport the urea to the villages.

Hyderabad: Minister of Agriculture, Marketing, and Civil Supplies, S Niranjan Reddy, said 90 metric tonnes of urea would be distributed to farmers across the state by September 12.

On Sunday the minister held a meeting with senior officials of the agriculture department and reviewed the process of distribution of the urea to farmers across the state.

The minister said that special vehicles would transport the urea to the villages. From September 1 to September 7, about 33,800 MTs of urea was distributed to farmers across the state and on Sunday, September 8, 16,374 MTs of urea was disbursed to various villages. Around 17,000 MTs of urea is being imported from other states in trains.

The minister has warned businessmen of stringent action if anybody is found to be selling the urea at increased prices and said that the sales are being continuously monitored.
