Gaya: A Maoist was killed on Sunday in an encounter with the security forces in Panchrukhiya forest in Bihar's Gaya district.

Acting on a tip off, personnel from CRPF and district police launched a combing and search operation in Panchrukhiya forest where an encounter took place between them and the Maoists in which an unidentified ultra was killed, the Superintendent of Police (SP), City, Awakash Kumar said.

A .303 rifle and a walkie talkie set were recovered from the site, he said.
