Deve Gowda Offers Tulabhara Seva at Kukke Subramanya Temple
Mangaluru: Former Prime Minister and JD(S) supremo, HD Deve Gowda, accompanied by his wife Chennamma, offered Tulabhara seva at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple on Monday.
Gowda and his wife arrived at Kukke late Sunday night. On Monday morning, accompanied by party spokesperson MB Sadashiva, they sought the blessings of Sri Subrahmanya and other deities.
Responding to media queries regarding the BJP-JD(S) coalition, Gowda stated that seat allocation discussion will take place after Dasara. Depending on his health condition, he or his son, Kumaraswamy, would hold discussions with Home Minister Amit Shah.
"Prior to the coalition, two rounds of talks were held with 19 MLAs, 8 MLCs, and party state president CM Ibrahim. Kumaraswamy met the Home Minister only after these discussions," Gowda explained.
"While there has been a decision based on previous election votes, specific constituencies are yet to be finalized. Currently, Ramanagara is under Congress , while Hasan is under JD(S). In other areas, BJP holds sway," he said.
Deve Gowda added that the Congress is eager to secure 28 seats, which is why JD(S) and BJP have chosen to join forces for the upcoming elections.
Reflecting on the recent assembly elections, Gowda noted that BJP garnered approximately 30-33 percent of the vote share, Congress received 40 percent, and JD(S) obtained 20-22 percent.
"Ultimately, the voters will decide their preferences in the upcoming Parliament elections," he concluded.
