Pursue a career in flying: Theresa May to children

Bengaluru: As she watched an aerobatic display by the IAF over Stonehill Government Higher Primary School on the outskirts of Bengaluru, British Prime Minister Theresa May seemingly encouraged children, with whom she mingled, to pursue a career in flying.
She gestured to them about the joy stick and flight controls during aerobatic displays by ‘Tejas’ combat jet and the light combat helicopter (LCH). While the ‘Tejas’ pulled off a ‘right charlie’, a steep vertical climb and a roll to the right, and returned to fly low and climb into the sky over the school, the combat helicopter’s display lasted longer as the IAF pilots enthralled the school children with several maneuvers. The aerobatics was preceded by three Pilatus trainers of the IAF flying low over the school.
Mrs May also visited a computer lab at the school and chatted with children about advances in information technology.
“We thanked her for visiting our school,” said Anusha and Mukesh, both class VIII students of the school, who received Mrs May and interacted with her later on during the aerobatic display. “I am happy that British Prime Minister Theresa May visited our school. No one will get such a chance,” remarked Anusha.
Headmistress of the school, Mrs Shoba Devi, who escorted the Prime Minister, around the school, said “The reason why the PM decided to visit our school is because ours is among the better equipped government schools in the state. It is a proud moment for us as a foreign Prime Minister is visiting us. It is an opportunity for our students. Students from several neighbouring villages have enrolled as students here,” she added.
