Take Ayodhya verdict in positive spirit: Bhaskar Rao
The police have held meetings with leaders from minority and majority communities, and told them to maintain peace, Mr Rao said.
BENGALURU: Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao appealed to the public to take the Ayodhya verdict in positive spirit and to maintain peace and harmony.
“Whatever the verdict is on Ayodhya, the people should accept it. If someone has objections, let them take the legal course and approach courts,” he said. “We will maintain law and order at any cost. We will not tolerate any incident that will incite violence,” he warned.
The police have made elaborate security arrangements and drawn up a comprehensive plan to maintain law and order in the city as the Ayodhya verdict is expected anytime soon. The police have held meetings with leaders from minority and majority communities, and told them to maintain peace, Mr Rao said.
Security has already been tightened at all sensitive and hypersensitive areas across the city. Police patrolling has also increased to monitor the situation in sensitive areas, he said.
“We have requested paramilitary forces to tackle any situation," he said. Two rounds of meetings have already been conducted with senior police officers.
“DG&IGP Neelamani Raju has issued instructions and we will ensure no untoward incident takes place in the city. All weekly offs for policemen have been cancelled till the situation after the Ayodhya verdict returns to normal,” he stated.
