Model City Park coming up in Kuttur on 100 hectares

VIJAYAWADA: Kotturu village on the outskirts of Vijayawada is being developed as City Park, spread over 100 hectares of land in forest and hill locations.
District collector B. Laks-hmikantham made a surprise inspection of the village on Friday by bus. He visited Prakasam Barrage, Kondaveeti Vagu, Ibrahim-patnam ring road and Durga flyover works. Mr Lakshmikantham ordered the officials concerned to complete Durga flyover in time. He said the Kotturu village was being developed into Model City Park offering pleasant entertainment outing to people of the city.

“The City Park, a project being developed by AP Urban Greenery Beautification Corporation, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in March 2018,” said Mr Lakshmikantam. Speaking to the media, he said the park will have cycling and jogging tracks also. With restrooms, deer park and yoga centre among others, the beautiful landscape of the park will attract people of the city and children.”

He said beautification of Ibraheempatnam has been completed. The old hospital building is being renovated at a cost of around Rs 20 crore. Among other proposals, Rs 500 crore is to be spent on construction of a flyover between Ramavarappadu and Enikepadu. By January 1, Durga flyover works will be completed and traffic will be restored. Planting of saplings on the Indrakeeladri and Gunadala hills has been completed while plantation on five other hills will be done soon,” the collector said. Joint-collectors Vijay Kri-shnan and PiduguBaburao, RDO, S. Harish, municipal corporation, CRDA, ADC, irrigation, forest departmental officers were with the collector on the inspection.
