Hyderabad: Raising day observed at College of Defence Management
The CDM alumni include officers from 22 foreign countries besides officers from the three services and the Indian Coast Guard.
Hyderabad: The College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, celebrated its 48th Raising Day on Saturday with the serving and retired alumni in attendance.
The college came into existence on December 8, 1970. It has emerged as the premier training institution for all three wings of the armed forces: the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. The college also trains officers from friendly foreign countries. The CDM alumni include officers from 22 foreign countries besides officers from the three services and the Indian Coast Guard.
Presently, 154 officers of the rank of colonel and their equivalent in the Navy, the Air Force and the Coast Guard, including 10 officers from Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Mozambique, Nigeria, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Uganda and Vietnam are trained at the college.
The CDM prepares the leadership of the armed forces through its flagship Higher Defence Management Course which facilitates learning in important management verticals essential for strategic leadership challenges.
The CDM holds accreditations and affiliations including those with Osmania University, All India Management Association, Project Management Association and A+ rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
