Chittoor to become automobile industrial hub

Mr Naidu has laid foundation stone for Apollo tyres manufacturing unit in Chinnapanduru village.

TIRUPATI: Chittoor district will be an automobile industrial hub soon, said AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu. Mr Naidu has laid foundation stone for Apollo tyres manufacturing unit in Chinnapanduru village under Varadiahpalem mandal in Chittoor district on Tuesday. Industries minister N. Amarnath Reddy and IT minister Nara Lokesh has also took part in the programme. This unit of Apollo tyres is the 7th in the world. They already has manufacturing units in India along with Netherlands and Hungary. The Apollo tyres has two manufacturing units in Kerala and one each in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

In Andhra Pradesh the company planned to invest around Rs 1800Cr initially. This alone creates more than 700 jobs directly and can also make indirect job opportunities to the locals. Addressing the gathering Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said, “This is a prestigious project that creates more than 700 job opportunities. Chittoor district will be an automobile industrial hub soon. In last three years many renowned industries and companies has made their landing in Sri City, which will be Inspiration to other industrial zones in the country.”
